Microsoft Access Update Query

Automatically changing the values of many records at once.

Q: I need to change a whole ton of information in one of my tables - a sales rep quit and I need to move all of her customers over to a different rep. I've got 25,000 records I need to go through. Is there a way to automate this?

A: Sure! You just need to learn how to build an Update Query. An Update Query can go through your entire table and change all of the values you specify from one thing to something else. They're real easy to use once you know how.

Here is a FREE VIDEO TUTORIAL that will walk you through an example of building an Update Query. It's much easier to show you how it's done than to explain it here.

I teach the concepts in this free mini tutorial in my Access 222 course. These are full courses - over 60 minutes in length each. I spend a lot more time going over how to do this, in addition to lots more tips and tricks.
