Q: Do your Visual Basic courses work with
Microsoft Office? A:
The Visual Basic training courses that we offer work with Microsoft
Visual Basic 6.0 which is a programming application and is completely
different from the VB that comes with Microsoft Office. MS Office uses VBA
(Visual Basic for Applications) which is a special type of VB language -
and is very similar to VB, but is not the same.
If you want to learn how to build your OWN programs,
then you want to use Visual Basic, not VBA. VBA is used to enhance
Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, et al).
YES, we are planning on releasing courses
that cover VBA programming. Look for each of these as advanced courses
under each of the appropriate programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.). If you
want to be notified when these courses are released, please make sure to
get on our Mailing List.
YES, if you currently have VB.NET you
will benefit from our VB courses. Our VB courses teach the fundaments of
the VB language. As long as you're interested in developing Windows
applications (as opposed to Web applications) then you will benefit from
our VB courses.
Where can you buy a copy of Visual Basic?
Your favorite computer software store or online shopping site should carry
Microsoft Visual Basic. We don't endorse any specific online shopping site
or software vendor. We have, however, heard from some people that it is
next to impossible to find copies of VB 6.0, however, again, you should be
able to buy VB.NET or the entire Visual Studio package. Again, these
packages should work just fine with our VB courses.
