Background applications, especially virus
scanners, can sometimes interfere with the installation or operation of
new software applications. You should try to disable as many
background applications as you can. What
are background applications? Notice any little icons in the
bottom-right corner of your screen - down by the system clock?
Those are all background applications. They are constantly running, all the
time, in the background of your computer's memory. Not only do they rob
your computer of performance, but they can cause good programs,
like ours, to have problems installing.
You can generally disable these background
applications by right-clicking on them and selecting EXIT or
DISABLE or whatever options they present you with. In other cases,
you may need to remove them from the Add/Remove programs
option in your control panel.
I know that you don't want to have to disable your
virus scanner, but sometimes in order to get new software to
install, it's necessary. If you're running Norton or McAfee virus scan (or
any other virus scanner) and you're having problems installing our
software, please try disabling your virus scanner before installing
our software again.
