Next Up: Date Time Functions in Access
By Richard Rost   Richard Rost on Twitter Richard Rost on LinkedIn Email Richard Rost   8 years ago

Microsoft Access TutorialsHey guys, just looking for some feedback. My next Access class will be Expert 27 and will continue the detailed Function Guide I started with Expert 25. This class will cover DATE AND TIME functions.

I've got a list of all of the functions, and I'll show you how to use them and what they do, but the challenge for making ALL of my classes is coming up with GOOD EXAMPLES. So, if you have anything that you'd like to see how to do in Access with regards to date and time functions, let me know.

I'm already going to show you things like how to calculate the first day of next month, how many days are in the current year, and so on... but I'm looking for lots of other examples to include in the class. So, if you've got any, post them here and I'll try to include them. Thanks!

How about a date and time that populates a calendar in Access so that when an employee logs into the database the employee time and date populates the calendar on the correct date. I want my employees to use the username and login. After login the manager can look up the hours on Friday after 5pm and see a total hours for the employee. I don't use a payroll company so I have to add up the hours every Monday and submit them to an online payroll service. Read More...
