My problem with this is I'm trying to run an Update Query. Here is what I'm looking at:

...SET SceneT.Synopsis = [FilmT].[FilmName] & vbline & [SceneT].[Synopsis]

It doesn't seem to work, I can do it with spaces(...SET SceneT.Synopsis = [FilmT].[FilmName] & ' ' & [SceneT].[Synopsis] )

is there an alternative method to add to a memo field?

It should be vbnewline not vbline

vbnewline I tried it and it still ddin't work:
(SET SceneT.Synopsis = " & _
"[FilmT].[FilmName]

You could instead add Chr(13) & Chr(10).
Chr(10) is the Line Feed character and Chr(13) is the Carriage Return character.

For example I have a table called Table1 with a Field called Notes
UPDATE Table1 SET Notes = "A" & Chr(13) & Chr(10) & "B";
