Sorry I've been so absent from the 599CD web site for the past couple of months. I've been hinting about a major project that I've been working on. I didn't want to say anything too soon, but I feel now is a good time to let the cat out of the bag.
I was selected to write THE COMPLETE IDIOT'S GUIDE to MICROSOFT EXCEL 2010 by Alpha Books (a division of Penguin Books). This is a tremendous honor for me, and it's my first "real" published book. I'm thrilled to be a part of this project.
All of the major writing for the book is finished. It's currently in the editing stage (and I'm sure there will be plenty for me to update when I get it back from my editor). I didn't want to say anything too soon because the book probably won't hit store shelves for another month or two yet... but as soon as it's available, I'll be posting links to where you can get your hands on a copy.
The book will come bundled with a CD-ROM that will include over 90 minutes of my world-famous video tutorials on Excel 2010. I'm actually working on those right now. And of course, there will be lots of sample spreadsheets and other goodies.
I'm excited... and exhausted. Writing a book is a LOT of work. So I apologize for neglecting my duties a little bit here at 599CD. Once this book project is completely finished, look for a lot of new tutorials to come out. I've been working almost exclusively with Office 2010 for the past couple of months, so I'll be updating Word and Excel (especially) to 2010 very soon.
I'm also going to release new Access 2007 and 2010 tutorials. I will probably release a few beginner Access 2007 lessons and then move right into 2010. After you get past the BASIC basics, they're both really very similar. It's not like the jump from 2003 to 2007.
OK, enough ranting... back to work.
Richard
P.S. Oh, and if you have an email in to me that I haven't answered in the past week or so, don't worry. I'm working on it. Sorry! Inbox is kind of full right now.
