I get asked this question quite often: how do you track specific units in your product database without duplicating a lot of information. The answer: create two tables. This tutorial explains how:

In the inventory section of my Access classes (320-series) I didn't go into tracking specific units in great detail. I just showed you how to track product types with quantity levels (I have 30 keyboards on the shelf).
This tutorial will show you what to do if you want to actually track each specific keyboard with a barcode, for example.
