The End of Office 2003 Tutorials?
By Richard Rost   Richard Rost on Twitter Richard Rost on LinkedIn Email Richard Rost   13 years ago

I've been getting a LOT of emails these past few weeks asking if I'm done making Office 2003 tutorials.

The answer is, "no!"

In fact, there is still a lot of material I want to cover for Word, Excel, and especially Access 2003. I know a LOT of you are still using 2003 and have no plans to upgrade to Office 2007.

I don't blame you. If I didn't HAVE to upgrade, I wouldn't either. I really do NOT like the Office 2007 interface and a lot of the "features" that Microsoft has added.

In fact, I have a lot of Access material that I've RECORDED but I have to put together into a finished product. So, yes, I've got some NEW Office 2003 material still to come.

On the other side, I have a LOT of people who have been bugging me for Office 2007 tutorials as well. If you buy a new computer today, it's hard to get Office 2003 anymore. Most new laptops are coming with Office 2007 bundled on them. So change is inevitable.

But... for all of my old-school customers who are still working with Word, Excel, and Access 2003, YES, my plans are to release new advanced tutorials for those.

I probably will NOT, however, be making any new PowerPoint or Outlook 2003 tutorials. I'll be moving right up to 2007 for both of those.

Also, I don't think I'll be making any more FrontPage 2003 tutorials. I haven't received ANY emails from customers asking about FrontPage, so I'll probably just move up to Expression Web.

Visual Basic? I have one or two more topics I want to cover using VB 6.0 (including attaching to an Access database) and then I'll be moving up to VB 2008.

Photoshop? My plans are to release some Photoshop Elements 7 classes next, starting from the basics.

Any other questions? Please feel free to post them here.

Not yet. I am planning more VB6 tutorials - especially since I have to cover connecting your VB app to an Access database.

Leroy, yes, there is a VB2008 Express Edition that is FREE and you can download it from Microsoft's Web Site.

Also, I finally put up a tutorial for all of you Access 2000 users on how to use the ListBox lessons even though you don't have an AddItem or RemoveItem command. See this page for details:
