Computer Learning Zone CLZ Access Excel Word Windows

The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media... credulous presentations on pseudoscience and superstition... a kind of celebration of ignorance

Converting Videos to Flash
By Richard Rost   Richard Rost on Twitter Richard Rost on LinkedIn Email Richard Rost   14 years ago

I just set up a program to convert all of my online videos to FLASH format (the same format you watch if you visit sites like YouTube). So intead of just having Windows Media Videos available, you'll be able to select the Flash Player option as well.

I've already converted Excel 101 and 220 to test it. It seems to be working great. Unfortunately, it takes about an HOUR to convert one class, so I wrote a batch file to process them all. I have over 100 classes, so I'll be adding them to the web site as they finish.

If you'd like to test Excel 101 out, just log on to your account or go to the Theater and click on the FLASH PLAYER option (bottom, left side). Click on the Movie title and it should load up. Let me know what you think.

Harry, it's just a matter of preference. Actually, the Flash videos are significantly LARGER (file size) than the WM versions - but they seem to load faster because of better buffering. I actually have some customers who told me they REFUSE to use Windows Media Player.
