I added an RSS Feed to the Site Blog today. Now, for those of you who know what RSS feeds are and you use them, great - here's your opportunity to add 599CD to your aggregator.
For the rest of you who don't know what RSS is...
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is used to publish updated site contents, blog entries, news headlines, podcasts and such to a program that can summarize all this information and present it to you in a nice, quick, easy-to-read format.
You can use them to keep up-to-date on web sites you like (like 599CD) or other peoples' blogs. You can even get current events, news, and other cool information from RSS feeds.
There are lots of great programs that you can download that are called Feed Readers (or aggregators) that gather up all of your RSS feeds in one place. An example of a good RSS program is FeedReader. It's a nice clean crisp interface and the program works extremely well.
Also, if you have an account with Google, Yahoo, or AOL, they each have Web-Based RSS Feed Readers built into their sites. These are very handy too. I've included buttons on my toolbar to automatically add your feed to their systems.
Personally, I like the Google Reader because it has a simple, clean, fast interface, and I can also use it on my Android phone to check sites and read news while I'm on the go.
Of course, if you have any questions about RSS Feeds, please Email Me. Like I said, I am planning a more detailed video tutorial to follow.
Enjoy.
Richard
