There is NO such restriction with an Access database. Multiple people can update the database simultaneously without a problem. You will still run into record-locking problems if two people try to edit the SAME record at once, but that's an issue no matter WHAT database you're using, and you'll need a programming solution to prevent that.

Thank you. Your teaching has helped me develop a special interest web site (just for a few people) and it works very well. I have received compliments about the site. Thank you. The small frustration was worth it. One question; since I am using Access and a few people are updating the database, is the restriction still in place---only one person can update at a time??? or do I have to create databases in SQL where I hear this restriction does not apply??? (Could this be new course material for you???) Jim

Jim, I apologize for that. I'll see if there is some way I can get a copy of the code up on the web site for you.

Like in a student section where the completed programs are listed. I problem I am having is you seldom scroll to the end of a line. Your video window does not pick up the little "ending" notations on a line. I have to rerun the episode over and over again until I can figure out what you are doing. And your so fast that us old people are having a hard time to keep up. Thanks

Jim, what do you mean by "the complete programs?" Do you mean the source code?

Is there a place I can see your completed programs for this lesson. I am having a hard time following your lesson because your screen is so small. Thanks
